Apothecary Products, LLC (APL) is growing its leadership team searching for a Production Manager to plan, supervise, and direct the work of a production team of 40+ team members manufacturing self-care products and other wellness solutions. This position will be accountable for the development and execution of our Burnsville, Minnesota production policies, programs, and strategies to ensure operational excellence. Overseeing a two-shift operation, the incumbent will be a highly visible presence on the production floor coaching, training, and documenting best practices to move our organization forward by driving safety, productivity, quality, cost, and team member engagement. This is a great opportunity for someone who has prior experience developing others, working in a multicultural work environment and desires to be hands-on in all aspects of the production team. In this role the incumbent will:

  • Develop and execute manufacturing policies, programs, budget, expense management, and strategies
  • Drive the development of standard operating procedures for the production team
  • Manage daily work center capacity schedules; control and monitor labor usage for effectiveness
  • Identify, implement, and monitor production standards to ensure achievement in the production schedule
  • Ensure product quality adheres to Good Manufacturing Practices, customer specifications and APL standards
  • Develop and foster relationships with other functional partners to proactively work to minimize operational disruptions, improve quality, and meet APL customer needs
  • Serve as champion for the maintenance of a clean and safe plant  
  • Communicate regularly with team members on production changes, process changes, quality initiatives and other information to drive results and team engagement

Qualifications + Experience:

We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in production/manufacturing setting in food, medical device, and/or consumer packaged goods
  • 3+ years’ in a leadership role with progressing responsibility
  • Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement training/certification is preferred
  • Willing to be hands-on in all aspects of the production team, including understand process from operator perspective
  • Must have strong ability to collaborate, build, and maintain positive rapport with credibility with peers, direct reports, and internal cross-functional team members throughout the organization
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office products and ERP systems
