Apothecary Products (APL) is currently seeking a Product Design Engineer to join the Engineering and Production teams! This key role supports new product design + existing product revisions with cross-functional partners to attain desired product specification. The ideal candidate has prior experience reviewing mechanical designs for improvements, either in the workplace or academically

In this role the incumbent will:

• Maintain detailed project documentation through all phases of product research and development; ensure product information is properly organized and archived
• Assist Technical Team in various projects and development phases; including review of Project Charters, changes to existing products/configurations, and processes + creation of the Planning and Design Input Checklists
• Provide technical assistance on projects including document management, material specs retention, finished product specs retention, and creating/editing product and component drawings
• Manage assigned project task assignments and deliverables in APL quality management software (Grand Avenue)  
• Continuously improve the internal design control process with internal team to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize efficiencies

We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience:

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 0-3 years’ experience; manufacturing and/or consumer goods environment preferred
• Prior experience reviewing mechanical designs for improvements on the job or academically
• Demonstrable proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Solidworks (or similar); familiarity with ERP and/or capability of becoming proficient quickly
• Design for manufacturability competence
• Flexible and highly collaborative; share ideas and ability to receive feedback equally well
• Understanding of best practice project management techniques
