  • Overview

    Apothecary Products (APL) is currently seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our team.  The Buyer/Planner  is responsible for executing the procurement and inventory planning to achieve highly efficient procurement processes and inventory levels within the corporate objectives. The person is responsible for managing inventory levels using procurement processes, forecasting, and planning to ensure a high level of service to our customers, but to also meet corporate inventory initiatives to lower inventory levels and obsolete inventory.

    In this role the incumbent will:

    • Create and manage Production Orders to ensure on time delivery of product to support customer demand based on MRP action messages.
    • Review forecasts and provide input to the Forecasting Manager to help maintain forecast accuracy.
    • Manage and accept purchase orders by updating and adjusting ERP system parameters to ensure system generated orders are meeting supply/demand requirements.
    • Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies to manage inventory control levels to ensure high customer service levels, increase inventory turns, lower inventory investments and eliminate obsolete inventory.
    • Ensure organization is compliant with all import regulations and requirements for foreign made goods. (Distribution products)
    • Continuously collaborate and assist with production planning accuracy and production work center utilization. (Production products)
    • Assist and support continuous improvement projects to drive cost reductions and process improvements.


    We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or related field; consideration given to equivalent experience
    • 3-5 years solid work experience in similar role with progressive responsibility; 5+ years with international purchasing, forecasting on low cost country sourcing preferred
    • Must have ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects. This position requires an individual who is a self-starter and can work independently but also in a team environment that requires cross training, open communication, and team development activities.
